Green Palm Hotel

The staff were friendly and nothing was too much trouble, and this felt like a well-run place with a lovely family behind it. The pool and its surroundings were very clean. Rooms were small but clean and comfortable, with a balcony, fridge, TV, hairdryer, and powerful shower. WiFi worked really well in the room, which was a bonus. Green Palms is away from the main strip, but the beach is a 15-minute walk and the main shopping center and buses are about 10 minutes away. I stayed four weeks on a bed-and-breakfast basis. Breakfast was continental, with lovely fresh Turkish bread, and I thought it was very good value.

The only thing going for this place was how close it was to the beach. The rooms were dirty, and my sister woke up covered in huge bites, which seemed like some kind of bedbugs. Breakfast was the same every day and wasn't nice. The staff were extremely rude and need to learn hospitality, especially the owner, whose manner was awful. He started shouting at us for using the shower and claimed we'd flooded the room downstairs. If I could give this place minus five stars, I would.

We didn't realize they served evening food until our fifth day. The menu should be advertised more, since the food was lovely and not too expensive. My one room complaint was the lack of a balcony. With so little space for two people, drying clothes and wet towels was difficult. We arrived at 4:30 am, and Fikret greeted us and quickly showed us to room 104. It had two single beds, an okay-sized bathroom, a fridge, a single wardrobe, and air conditioning that worked amazingly. The floor was the cleanest I'd seen in a budget hotel, with not a grain of dirt or grime. Osman is such a beautiful soul and would do anything to make you happy and comfortable. Halis always goes above and beyond, and if you want something that's not on the menu, he'll sort it. A big thank you to Fikret and his wife for being so lovely and welcoming. They have a great team, and I can't wait to come back.
