Sunway Club Hotel

We were touring on motorbikes and spent five days at Sunway hotel. There was parking for our bikes, and the staff were super friendly and helpful. It’s a fairly new hotel and excellent value, with really comfortable rooms, a nice pool, and Marmaris beach close by. I’d definitely recommend it. Thanks to all the staff. Rich.

This will be my first and last stay here. The bar and reception staff were exceptionally helpful and approachable, but the management were horrible. I saw them speak very rudely to other guests. One manager refused to put up an umbrella, saying he didn’t want to get his hands dirty, even though an older lady would clearly have struggled to move and raise the big umbrella. The female manager spoke rudely to staff in front of guests and was also very rude to guests. They didn’t seem interested in resolving problems brought to them. After checking out at 12, we waited in the lobby for our transfer and felt the managers were watching us like a hawk. If they’d been more approachable and understanding, I might have considered coming back. As it is, I won’t.

I’ve stayed at many hotels, but never had an experience like this. I wouldn’t give this one even one star. The owner is horrible. He wouldn’t listen when I tried to explain something, and didn’t seem to care. We arrived and were put in a family room with a sea view that we hadn’t booked. We checked with the receptionist that it was our room, and he kept saying yes, so we unpacked and went to sleep. The next day, after we’d gone out and booked an excursion, a different receptionist told us we’d been given the wrong room and had to move. We had to cancel the excursion, pack everything again, and change rooms. When we left, there was no apology, goodbye, or thank you. The hotel was very dirty. There were stains on the towels and sheets, mold all over the bathroom, and awful lighting. Breakfast wasn’t edible, there was nothing for the children, and there wasn’t even bottled water in the room. The receptionist completely ignored us, with no smile or greeting. There was no entertainment, not even music by the pool.

Getting around was easy because everything is close by, and the location is great. The rooms were clean, the staff friendly, and the stay was really comfortable. I’d definitely come back.
