Merthomes Marmaris

The room windows faced walls or construction instead of the view shown in the hotel's advertisement. You don't find that out until you arrive. The walls also seem paper-thin: music bass vibrations inside the building kept us awake until 3 a.m. When we questioned an unfair exchange-rate overcharge, the general manager was wildly rude and ignorant, even suggesting I “change my wife.” I told him it wasn't nice to treat guests so poorly, and he said he didn't care what guests thought. This “boutique” place has no hospitality. It's a poorly chosen and renovated residential building that isn't fit to host guests.

We were right in the center, which was convenient, though being near the bar street meant the noise kept us from getting much sleep. The rooms themselves were modern, comfortable, and amazing, and the staff were kind with excellent service.

We stayed for seven nights in the second week of September, in a roomy family apartment with two bedrooms. Both bedrooms and the shower room were spacious and clean, and each bedroom had a smart TV. There was also a fridge, tea, coffee, water, shampoo, shower gel, a hair dryer, and towels. The air conditioning and WiFi worked really well. Restaurants, the bazaars, and the marina are all within walking distance from this central spot in Marmaris. It's right by bar street, though, and the music carries on into the early hours, so it wouldn't suit babies, kids, or anyone hoping for an early night. Mert and his brothers were good lads and helped with the information we needed. We'd stay here again without hesitation if we return to Marmaris.

The breakfast was delicious and healthy, and the rooms were really clean. The manager was nice and ready to help with any issues guests might have. It's an affordable place in a lively neighborhood, next to kirtil and about a five-minute walk from the Marina restaurants, coffeeshops, and pubs. Highly recommended.
