Yucelen Hotel Gokova

The food was good throughout, with a fresh breakfast and a tasty dinner at reasonable prices, even though both were at the same restaurant. The tablecloths were always clean, too. We were initially unsure when we saw how narrow the parking area was, but we managed to park. The staff were very welcoming and ready to help. We weren't happy with our original room's position, and they recommended another one right in front of the pool, which was lovely. The room was clean.

The people working here were incredibly helpful, and the food and the views from the restaurant and coffee shops were great. The place has a real history, from its architecture to the writers who stayed here over the years and are still honored after their deaths. Nail Cakirhan, a well-known and repeatedly awarded architect, designed it. His distinctive style shapes the hotel, its rooms, and even the village of Akyaka. This is easily the best hotel in the area.

There are lots of ways to get out into the mountains for a hike or take a boat trip around the area, and the hotel itself has lovely views of the sea and mountains. It's only a few metres from the beach. Between the buildings, flowers cover the grounds, with a little stream, goldfish, and ducks. There are three pools plus a children's pool. The staff are kind, the restaurant has such a big choice that it's hard to try everything, and the bread baked there is very good. Even with families and children filling the hotel, the rooms stay quiet.

November suited me well: it was warm, sunny, and cozy, without the crowds or +40 heat, and the water was still warm enough to swim. I came home thinking this was my favorite trip to Turkey. The hotel felt authentic, Turkey at its best, with flowers, mandarin trees, a stream with fish and ducks, and the sea and forest nearby. My room was wooden and traditional in style. I loved the local breakfast: olives, homemade baked bread, mandarins, cheese, local marmalades, and more. The coffee options could be better, though, which matters to many people. What really impressed me was the hospitality. I travel a lot, and the staff were wonderfully warm. Mustafa, Belma and Co, thank you. The shuttle was comfortable and on time, and my room was arranged around my wishes and even heated for me. The men serving breakfast were attentive, considerate, and polite. Everyone smiled sincerely, including the woman who cleaned my room, and she did a very good job.
