Grand Ezel Hotel

The hotel itself is clean, nice, efficient, well priced, and in a good location. What I remember most, though, is the waiter who helped when my motorbike broke down in a country where I don't know the language. The reception manager acted as if he would help but did nothing. The waiter was genuinely kind and got me through the problem. I'm very grateful to him, and to the other hotel manager, who's roughly my age, 63, and was consistently helpful and kind.

They didn't clean the room or bring fresh towels, and the refrigerator had only two small bottles of water, with no more provided. We paid 9800 TL for 3 nights. The hotel information was completely wrong, and breakfast was very poor: no juice or milk, just water along with tea or coffee. I was even given a broken coffee cup. A very bad experience, and I can't recommend this hotel.

The service was okay and breakfast was included, but I'd look for somewhere else. The room was passable, though it looked very old and used, with several pieces of furniture slightly damaged. The bathroom was dirty, and I even saw mold. It didn't look like the pictures.

The room they eventually gave me had a lock that didn't work, so I left my luggage inside while the door was effectively open when I went out. Before that, I arrived late as a solo traveler and was put in a room with three beds. The receptionist said they'd move me to a single-bed room the next day, but the day shift clearly hadn't been told. Around noon they called to say checkout was due, speaking Turkish; I only understood “check out.” Another worker came up and was rather aggressive, and spoke no English either. I had to use Google Translate to explain that I'd paid for two nights, then show my card while they checked the payment. They said the rooms were being cleaned, then went to lunch and left me waiting in the lobby for half an hour. Communication between the night and day reception staff was poor. They weren't friendly, there were no smiles, and the night receptionist had a bad attitude. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to foreigners.
