Midyat Kent Otel

The location was a real plus. We parked right outside and could walk around the old town, which was lovely. Breakfast next door at a cafe was perfectly fine. The stay itself, though, was a rough experience. When we arrived with our luggage, the staff left us waiting for quite a while, busy with other guests who I assume were Turkish rather than foreign. They only acknowledged us after we spoke to them directly, then seemed surprised we were there even though we had a reservation. They eventually showed us to a room without electricity and with a strong sewage smell, so we asked to move. In the next room, we had to ask for the wifi code, towels, and breakfast details, and each time the staff seemed irritated. The room was okay for one night, but the wifi was slow and unreliable, the bathroom smelled bad, and its light kept flickering so much that I used it in the dark. Oddly, the flickering stopped while the shower was running. I wouldn't recommend the experience if you have another choice. It was unpleasant dealing with staff who seemed so clearly annoyed by their guests.
