Hotel Greenland – All Inclusive

We keep returning to Hotel Greenland in Ovacik, Turkey, and this was our fifth year in a row. It feels familiar as soon as we arrive, partly because the staff are so welcoming, cheerful, and ready to help. Seeing the same friendly faces makes the holiday special. There’s lots of fresh food to choose from, especially good Turkish dishes, and I always look forward to the evening desserts. The pools are clean and cared for, with plenty of room to relax, while the mountain views make the place feel peaceful. Evening entertainment adds a bit of fun too. We’ve had a great time each year and would recommend it to anyone after a friendly, relaxing break.

The entertainment was only 45 minutes, and there was basically nothing for the kids. Ordering from the very limited drink selection felt miserable. Staff were rude, too. I definitely wouldn’t call this a four-star hotel, closer to three at best. We love Turkey, but staying here made us regret the whole trip. The daily fights on the estate nearby gave us more entertainment than the hotel did. I could list plenty more, but we lost eight days of holiday and I don’t want to waste more time writing about it.

We had a great stay and are already looking forward to coming back next year. The pool and loungers were easy to manage. Some people put towels down early, but we could still find one for my wife, even at 8:30am. If you want several loungers together, it helps to reserve them in the morning, but it never felt like a stressful rush. The rooms were comfortable and had great showers. The evening entertainment was enjoyable, and the food had a wide choice. Drinks at the bar were good quality, with no long waits. Staff were polite, friendly, and fun throughout. Reception were helpful, and service in the bars and restaurants was consistently first-class. It felt like the hotel had a strong hiring and training process, with everyone making an effort to help. Most guests were British, and many staff spoke English fluently. There were also plenty of Turkish guests, which seems to say something about the hotel’s local reputation. British pounds are accepted for tips, and even the nearby town advertises and accepts them. Taxis were clean, reliable, and reasonably priced, charged in Turkish Lira. This is the best four-star hotel experience I’ve had. Congratulations to the Hotel Greenland team.

We’re only three days into our stay at Greenland hotel, and we’re already having a brilliant time. The daytime and evening entertainment has probably been the best we’ve seen. The staff and management are fantastic, always smiling and willing to help. We also got a great deal on an upgrade. Our first room was very good, but the upgraded one is fabulous. Highly recommended.
