Hotel Riverside

I was apprehensive about taking my first solo holiday as a 26-year-old woman, but the hotel and its incredible staff made the trip for me. They went out of their way to check I was okay, and they'd sit and chat with me before meals. I spent five nights here and by the end I felt I'd built a friendship with Ramazan, the hotel manager. Thank you to him and to all the friendly staff. I'll miss the place and the people, and would happily come back for more spontaneous adventures. The riverside setting is breathtaking. I could eat my meals by the river each day, and at breakfast there were river turtles to feed while I ate. The location is perfect, about a 10-15 minute walk along the river to the town centre, but far enough away for quiet nights and peaceful sleep. Dalyan is gorgeous, with the river to explore, plus trips to Turtle Beach and the bays and caves of the amazing Mediterranean Sea, with its crystal-clear water.

We’ve just come back from ten days here and honestly couldn’t find anything to complain about. The staff are warm and polite, always ready to help, and the pool was clean with lots of loungers. We also went on a couple of trips on the hotel’s own boat, which were brilliant. Rooms were clean and the towels changed daily. Breakfast was a good Turkish spread, with omelettes available and plenty to eat. Already looking forward to coming back.

The only thing we thought needed attention was the faded plastic tables by the pool. Everything else was as lovely as ever. This was my third visit, and I’ve just spent two weeks here on my own, staying in one of the new rooms. It was spacious and comfortable, with plenty of storage, a kettle and a fridge, and the walk-in shower had great pressure and lots of hot water. The breakfast by the river, with the turtles and fish, was perfect. I also loved the boat outings to Koycegiz, including the beach barbecue and the moonlight trip to the lake. We’re already thinking about coming back next year with my husband and friends. The hotel arranged a private boat trip, and the views everywhere we went were stunning. Each morning we also got to see turtles visiting the river. The setting is lovely, with an easy, scenic 12-minute walk along the riverside path into town, and breakfast had plenty of choice at the buffet. The staff were caring, friendly and wonderful. Our rooms were basic, but spotlessly clean; the bathroom could do with updating, though I understand renovations are underway. I used a mobility scooter, and the owner made sure I could get in and park it whenever needed. Thanks again, Mr Alp, for making our stay such a lovely experience.
