Eagle Cave Inn

Every morning we enjoyed breakfast on the terrace with a lovely view. The owner was kind and incredibly helpful, and we felt very welcome. The room was clean and nicely decorated, like the rest of the hotel, and the place had a magical feel. Restaurants and central sights are only about five minutes away, a hard-to-beat location. I'd definitely stay here again if I return to Cappadocia.

Our room, 302, which they call the pink room, had plenty of storage. We stayed four nights in September '23 and had a great time. The bathroom sink leaked on our first day, but they fixed it that same day as quickly as they could. Breakfast was delicious and had all the usual things you'd want in a Turkish breakfast. They don't charge for bottled water in the rooms, and when I offered to pay for all the coffee we'd had, they kindly declined. We accidentally left a few jackets in the gorgeous closet; they called right away, then sent them by courier that same day when I asked. Such kind people, always smiling. We loved Ortihisar as a base. It’s friendlier and better priced, with far fewer crowds than Goreme, but still just a short drive from the attractions. Eagle Cave is right by the castle, which costs 30tl to enter and is a must-see. The hotel itself was beautiful and the rooms comfortable. They even took care of our laundry. The homemade breakfast was a lovely spread, and the service was outstanding from before our trip through the day we left. He found us hot air balloon prices cheaper than I could find and gave us great suggestions for hikes, food and tours. I can't say enough good things about Eagle Cave and Ortihisar.

The owners were so kind and always ready to help with any information we needed. The hotel’s location was another highlight, with a breathtaking view right from our room. My boyfriend and I stayed last August, and the whole experience was great. If I get to visit Cappadocia again, I’d happily trust Eagle Cave once more. Future travelers, don’t miss having breakfast while watching the balloons with that view!
