Samsun Charme Hotel

The hotel sits in the heart of Samsun's old center, with great places within walking distance, and the upper-floor breakfast room has a lovely view. The staff are welcoming and everything is very clean. It's a very good two-star hotel, with rooms for up to three people. Parking may be tricky, but there's a car park five minutes away, so ask the hotel for its location before you arrive. Also, reception isn't on the ground floor: you have to carry your luggage up the stairs first, then you can use the elevator.

After cycling around Turkey for over a month and staying in hotels all over the country, Charm Hotel in Samsun has been my best experience so far. The staff are kind, helpful, and always ready to assist with a smile, and you can tell they enjoy their work. Everything is clean, well kept, and thoughtfully arranged. For the price, the service is outstanding. I'd highly recommend it to cyclists and other travelers looking for comfort, warmth, and good value.

The room was so cramped that even moving around felt like a risk, and the family-room bed was too small for one person to sleep comfortably. Noise made it impossible to rest. After booking three nights through Agoda, I tried to leave after the first, but they kept my money and ignored the many emails Agoda customer service sent, saying they hadn't received them. This was the worst experience I've had. It might be worth $30 at most. Avoid it unless you're desperate.

Bahar at reception was really friendly, and my room was clean. I enjoyed the breakfast too. Charme hotel is also perfectly placed for a visit to Samsun, so I had a nice stay.
