Babil Antique Hotel

The family running this place gave us such a warm, kind welcome, and there was always someone ready to help. Breakfast was tasty and served with a smile. Urfa has plenty of little hotels in traditional heritage stone houses, but this one exceeded our expectations. It’s charming, decorated in keeping with local culture and style. Rooms differ in size, but each is tasteful and very comfortable. I recommend staying here in Urfa.

The courtyard was peaceful and charming, with soft jazz in the background that made for a lovely memory. The hotel was beautiful, cosy, and spotlessly clean, and the rooms were exceptional. The staff were welcoming, attentive, and extremely friendly. It was a wonderful experience, and I’d definitely choose this hotel again.

The hotel is wonderfully distinctive, full of character, and has kept its original features. It isn’t the usual Hilton-style five-star place, but it’s intimate and exceptionally clean. There’s a lovely courtyard for Turkish tea and a nice breakfast room. Its old-town location is ideal, just up the road from the bazaar and within walking distance of restaurants, the museum, and other sights. The staff were the highlight. From our conversations a month before the trip until the day we left, they were welcoming, helpful, and always ready with tea. They arranged local taxis, suggested restaurants, and made sure nothing felt like too much trouble. We’re so glad we chose this as our base for exploring Gobekli Tepe and other nearby sites, and for experiencing local hospitality. Thank you, team Babil Antique, for making us feel so welcome!
