We ended up at Hotel Mary's House after leaving a fairly average hotel someone had booked for us. While walking around looking for an inn that brought a well-known story to mind, we knocked on the door and our host welcomed us into the beautiful courtyard. We had to assure him we weren’t just looking for a room for an hour or two. 🤣 Our room was beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean, with a comfortable bed and quiet AC that took the edge off the late summer heat. After the place we’d escaped from, it was a welcome change. Breakfast was typical Turkish food, beautifully presented, and served just for us rather than buffet-style. Our host was friendly and familiar, and gave us useful, detailed tips for eating locally along with a few Turkish life lessons for free.

We stayed overnight, and the friendly family who run the place were great with our wild twin boys. The room and the whole hotel were very clean. Breakfast was a delicious traditional Turkish meal, and you could tell the ingredients were fresh and good quality. I’d recommend it for a solo, romantic, or family stay.

The owner and staff knew the area well and could suggest places to see in and around Selçuk, İzmir. Rooms were nicely decorated and spotlessly clean, and the shower had good pressure. A great fit for families, couples, or solo travellers. I highly recommend it.

Bugra (owner) made us feel like we were visiting an old friend. He’s extremely friendly and goes out of his way for guests. The rooms are great, the atmosphere is stunning, and it’s the best place to stay in town. I’d recommend it to anyone, especially cat lovers.
