Villa Panorama

Evenings here are peaceful, and the sunsets are lovely. The garden and pool area are well kept, the place is spotless and charming, and we enjoyed the pets too. The staff were warm and welcoming. Dinner on the terrace is well worth trying, especially the excellent meatballs and kebab. Breakfast was homemade as well. I hope to return soon!

We were in a top floor room, and the many windows gave us wonderful views. The room felt a little dated, but the beds were comfortable. Our shower holder was broken, so we had to hold the shower head, though that wasn't a major issue for us. The courtyard, pool, and bar area had a cozy Turkish feel, with dogs and chickens adding to the atmosphere. We enjoyed both supper at the restaurant and the Turkish breakfast. If you don't expect an American-style breakfast, you should enjoy it too. Definitely recommend.

From our terrace room, we had a great valley view, with selcuk castle atop the hill opposite the hotel. It was a fun place for the kids, who enjoyed seeing the tortoise, pigeons, chicks, and dogs. The decor and facilities, along with the pets, made the stay enjoyable. The city center and bus station (otogar) are a 7-10 minute walk away. The owner offers free rides to and from places in his car for hotel guests, and can arrange a taxi by phone too.

Villa Panorama has an amazing outlook over Ephesus, with the basilica on the horizon. The place is cheap, the air conditioning works, and the rooms are clean. But chickens and the owners' dogs were in the pool early in the morning, which put us off, and the breakfast was the worst we had in Turkey, even compared with budget hotels and Airbnb stays. It might do if you're just passing through, but I think you could find a nicer place by looking around.
