Tamara Beach Konuk Evi

The cocktails were excellent, especially the ones made with fresh hand-picked blackberries, and we had a fantastic time through the evening. We arrived around noon to a lovely Selimiye-style setup with the sea, sunbeds, restaurant, bar, and accommodation set back behind it. At first the owner was attentive and engaging. Then he suddenly said he wouldn’t serve us any more alcohol because we’d be “hitting the road,” even though we’d planned to stay the night there. We don’t know why, but he refused to rent us rooms and insisted we go to Bozburun. His overly didactic tone felt off-putting. We paid 26,000 TL for dinner, drinks, and snacks, though not everyone in our group had a main course. It’s a beautiful place with excellent cocktails, but the treatment was odd. We’ll come to Selimiye again, just not to this establishment.

Mustafa is a wonderful host and a great barman. The place is all about fresh food and cool drinks, and the fries he made us were among the best I’ve ever had. I could easily imagine a place like this in London.

Lovely views out to sea, and the staff are kind. A beautiful place.

We stayed in September, when things were quiet and peaceful, and enjoyed walking along the beach. Tamara Beach and its beachfront hotel let you step straight into the sea when you wake up, which I really liked. Selimiye itself is a coastal town with a simple feel and a wonderful atmosphere. I’d happily choose this place again if I returned, and I highly recommend it.
