Maxx Royal Belek Golf Resort - All Inclusive

The kids had loads to enjoy at Maxx Royal Belek over Easter, from games and soft play to the chocolatier, ice cream, and patisserie areas. The kids' club facilities were excellent too, though its child safety and access controls felt weaker than we'd expect at this level. We wouldn't have been comfortable leaving younger children there the way we might at an Ikos-style resort. The buffet was huge and generally decent, though not outstanding. It covered food from all over the world, but the quality was hit and miss depending on what you wanted. Our main problem was booking the à la carte restaurants, and it ultimately made us check out early. At 4:30pm on our first night, we were told bookings had closed at 4, with no phone number or clear alternative. Another day, we asked about teppanyaki at 3:30 and were told it was full. We immediately asked for the steakhouse instead, but the reply came at 4:05, when bookings had closed again. When we eventually got into teppanyaki there was plenty of space, even though our friends had been told they couldn't join because it was full. It started to feel like the system pushed most guests toward the buffet and restaurants without bookings, while keeping à la carte places open for VIPs, villa guests, and premium rooms. Staff gave very rehearsed answers, which made the whole thing even more frustrating. Plenty of families will love the resort, especially if they're happy with the buffet and casual dining. But if the nicer restaurants matter to you, expect a struggle. Faced with another buffet meal, we decided to spend our last few days at the Nickelodeon hotel for some theme park-style fun.

Aidai and Madina, our Maxx assistants during the holiday, were so kind and polite. They were always reachable by phone and helped us with lots of things, which made our stay much easier and happier. The hotel is especially good for families, with plenty of activities and special rooms for children. The rooms were modern and very spacious, the food was excellent, and restaurant service was quick and polite. The staff were amazing overall. We were really pleased with the experience and would absolutely recommend it.

I can write about this now, though I couldn't before. Some time ago, my husband, our young child, and I stayed at this hotel as a family. My husband was seriously ill and close to the end of his life. Turkey meant a great deal to us because it was where we'd met while travelling, and this was meant to be our last family trip. The hotel was clean and well kept, and the staff were generally polite. One morning, someone had spilled water on the restaurant floor. It stayed wet for a while and hadn't been fully cleaned when my husband slipped and fell as he walked past. Soon afterward, he suffered internal bleeding. At the time, I was focused only on his condition and getting him safely home, not on the circumstances or how staff responded. The hotel offered a transfer, access to the airport VIP lounge, and a small discount on a future stay. Those things helped practically, but didn't match the seriousness of what we were going through. Our week cost around €12,000-14,000. At that price, guests can reasonably expect safety, accountability, and responsible management, especially when something goes wrong. My husband died shortly after we returned home. With time, I can look back on it. In moments like this, what stays with you isn't only the accident, but whether people showed real care and compassion. Sometimes a thoughtful, humane gesture means more than formal apologies.

For me, Maxx Royal Belek is the best hotel in Turkey, and even across Europe. The service is outstanding. It feels as if nothing is impossible, with staff going out of their way to make every wish happen and keep guests happy. Mehriban and Kristina deserve a special thank you. Even though I can be demanding and difficult, they made me feel incredibly well looked after and did everything they could to make things possible. I've never experienced that kind of personal attention and hospitality elsewhere. We had our best days at the Cabanas, where the service felt even more exclusive. I'd definitely book a sea view room and wouldn't miss them. Huge credit to the whole team. I'll be back!
