For this price, it's one of the best hotels I've seen. It's clean and tidy, close to the city center of Trabzon, and the staff are endlessly helpful with hotel matters and other questions. Not everyone speaks English, but they always find some way to sort out the language problem.

The hotel itself is okay, and you get what you paid for. What stood out was how kind and helpful the people were. They went out of their way to help us on more than one difficult occasion, which is rare in Turkey.

I felt safe here as a woman traveling alone, and the staff were outstandingly helpful. I came to the Anil after a bad experience at another local hotel. The Lonely Planet guidebook and the local tourist info centre recommended it, and now I can see why. It's a budget hotel with no frills, but for 40 lira/night my room was clean and bright and had a view of the Black Sea. The location is perfect, just off the main square with shops, restaurants, and other places all around. Breakfast was included and great, and the lobby was welcoming, with books, newspapers, and tv.

We’re in Trabzon in January, and it’s cold, with snow expected in two days. For the price and location, the hotel is good. They’re also doing some maintenance.

The location and price made me really happy. The rooms were clean, breakfast was okay, and the hotel felt Covid-19 safe, with plenty of sanitizer and staff wearing masks. That was reassuring.
