Zeus Turunç Hotel

For me, Zeus Hotel’s only real advantage was the location. Turunç Bay looked spectacular from the hotel, and the beach was a minute away, but almost everything else about my week there disappointed me. Our room was dark, cramped, and poorly maintained, with broken fixtures left as they were. It wasn’t cleaned during the entire week, and housekeeping never replaced basic supplies such as toilet paper, shampoo, or soap. The buffet was dreadful, with hardly any fresh or local food and no proper meat. It was mostly reheated frozen nuggets or questionable meatballs. Food ran out quickly, leaving late arrivals with sparse vegetables, low-calorie fillers, and stale bread. Drinks were brought to the table by waiters, but were mostly ice, and I was unsure about the ice quality. Several guests got sick after a few drinks, so I suspect it may have been made from tap water. The only soft drinks for children were Coke, Sprite, and Mirinda, and the only alcohol was diluted draft beer, gin, and vodka. There were no drinks or snacks at the bar. The hotel seemed severely understaffed. I saw the same people working from early morning until late evening, and almost nobody spoke English, so all communication had to go through a phone translator. We were also told the hotel was overbooked because of a power outage in five rooms, but that excuse felt like a cover for not having enough rooms. We spent one night in a zero-star property with no sea access and no proper food service, despite our all-inclusive package. We were then told to return to Zeus for all three meals. Nobody seemed to care about the discomfort or wasted time, even though our IDs had been scanned at Zeus when we arrived and it seemed we were already checked in. Some families had to spend more than one night at that other hotel, and families arriving after us seemed to have the same problem. I’d only consider Zeus Hotel if the view and closeness to the sea were enough to outweigh the overbooking risk, the poor communication, the bad all-inclusive food, and the lack of housekeeping. Otherwise, I’d look elsewhere.
