Saklı Konak Cappadocia

The steep steps around the property mean you need to be fairly mobile, and there are two dogs living there plus cats around and inside the grounds. Still, this was such a memorable stay. We loved the cave atmosphere, and the rooms are made as comfortable as possible for being inside a cave. A few areas could have been cleaner, and the bathroom had an odor. The staff were warm and helpful. The woman at check-in helped us a lot, and the manager arranged our hot air balloon ride. A male receptionist was friendly too when we asked him lots of questions. We were welcomed with mint lemonade and cake, and the lemonade was the best I've had. You can buy food and drinks at the property as well. We had the included Turkish breakfast in the morning, and it was delicious with so many thoughtful little dishes. More food came out than was in the photo, so I was too busy eating to capture it all. The eggs and fresh, hot mini-doughnut-like bites were favorites. My daughter called our cave stay “being bears,” and since we'd never stayed in a cave hotel before, the whole experience felt like a once-in-a-lifetime adventure. We had a wonderful time and would recommend it to anyone comfortable with all those stairs.

Waking up early to see the hot air balloons over Cappadocia was unforgettable. We could head straight to the rooftop and take in the view. The rooms each have their own design, with traditional Turkish decor alongside modern comforts, and the atmosphere feels cozy and welcoming. The staff at Kale Konak were attentive and friendly, always ready to help with a smile. Breakfast each morning was a lovely finish to the stay, with a wide variety of delicious, authentic local dishes. Kale Konak is a special spot with distinctive rooms, beautiful views, and warm hospitality.

We only stopped in for tea, since we weren't staying at the hotel, but it was such a lovely pause. The historic design is beautiful, everything looked neat and pretty, and the view was lovely too. The staff welcomed us so kindly that it made our day. The tea and cake were much appreciated, and I hope we can stay in one of those rooms someday. Thank you 💗

The hotel is centrally placed for many of Cappadocia's main sights, beyond the cave dwellings and balloon rides. The rooms are unusual but comfortable, though bits of the cave walls shed. There's a lovely cover over the bed ceiling, so nothing falls onto the bed. Breakfast is complimentary, with a good mix of Turkish and Mediterranean food and sides to get the day started. The housekeeping and breakfast staff are great, and a tip at the end of your stay is deserved. If you're too tired to go out for dinner, grab a bottle of wine and sit on the patio.
