Kayakapi Premium Caves - Cappadocia

We came for an anniversary weekend and left with memories we won’t forget. The standout was the enormous bathtub, and the room was spacious, nicely decorated, and warm despite it being February. The staff were so friendly and accommodating. The hotel is also connected to Revithia, the Michelin-starred restaurant.

The beds were firmer than we like, and we found the on-site Michelin-starred restaurant a real letdown. Still, there was a lot to enjoy here. Our larger room had a private hammam, a memorable and unusual feature, and the design made it feel very relaxing. Staff across the hotel were welcoming, attentive, and ready to help. The hotel restaurant had a broad international menu and friendly service, while the clean, well-kept spa was another highlight. It’s a distinctive property, and we’d recommend it despite those two disappointments.

We loved the quiet, the views, and having a fitness center and sauna. Service was good, particularly when they helped us book activities, and the spa and massage were enjoyable. Revithia was fine, though in my opinion it’s overhyped and very focused on lamb. The main restaurant food was a downside, and we were stuck with it during our stay. Our room had aging furniture and a TV with few channels, no streaming or casting. I’d booked an upgraded room, but despite the photos showing a private pool or patio, ours had neither. The hotel was mostly empty, but they didn’t move us to another room. Also, getting here from the nearest airport takes about an hour and costs over $100 each way.

The stone setting and all the different room designs give this place the feel of a little village held in time, with a character all its own. The atmosphere is lovely, and the breakfast was especially good, with lots of carefully selected, high-quality food. It does cost a bit more than is usual in Turkey, but the setting, the attention to detail, and the stay itself made it feel special. I’d gladly come back. A great way to experience Cappadocia.
