Temenni Evi Cave Boutique Hotel

The rooftop bar had a gorgeous view of the caves, and Enes made the night so much fun. He got our whole group dancing, and we had a really memorable time.

I came for the view and time with friends, and ended up with a night full of dancing and laughs. Enes shared some Turkish culture and music with us and showed us the dancing. Such a great experience!

We were told the hotel was in the city center, but there was no parking. The rooms had no TVs, and on our last night, after three nights there, the internet stopped working. The open buffet breakfast was very limited and seemed set up for tour groups. One morning we called to ask when breakfast started at 8:30, and were told it would end at 9:00 because a group had asked to eat at 7:00. By the time we arrived, only a little food was left from the group, and staff replaced just the cheese and bread options. The privacy issue in our room was awful. Its window faced an open alley with lots of people walking by. There was a curtain, but people could still see into the room. When we asked to move, staff first said there were no rooms available. After we pushed, suddenly nine rooms were available. They also assured us there would be no foot traffic, even though there was plenty. This was one of the worst places I've ever stayed.

Getting up to this cave hotel takes a short climb, which could be tough if you have knee trouble or weak legs. You may want to arrange a ride for your luggage. The temperature can swing a lot, so bring winter clothes and rain gear if you're not comfortable with cold and wet weather. There are heaters in the room, which help. The place combines the feel of real cave living with modern furnishings and a sense of the past. It was a fantastic, once-in-a-lifetime experience.
