Hotel Yorgo Seferis

This charming boutique hotel sits in the heart of Urla Iskele, in what used to be the home of Greek writer Yorgo Seferis. The restoration has kept its authentic character, and the hotel also works as a convenient little home museum dedicated to Seferis. Inside, the rooms are spacious, clean, and air-conditioned, with distinctive antique furniture. Breakfast is homemade Turkish food prepared with fresh local ingredients. Iskele was once a Greek fishing village, and that feeling remains among its quaint streets, shops, and nice restaurants. It made for a welcoming, memorable stay, with the feel of a romantic castle outside of time. A great fit for anyone drawn to history, culture, or romance. Highly recommended!

The people were so kind, and the food was delicious. I was visiting from Ireland and really enjoyed the local culture, food, and people. Even though I only stayed one night, it was a lovely experience. I’d definitely recommend trying Yorgo Seferis Otel if you’re there. Thanks :)

Gül, who owns the place, was incredible and helped me so much. I felt safe traveling solo as a woman, and everything was so clean with such lovely staff. I had a wonderful weekend at Yorgo Seferis. Highly recommend it!!!

I went for dinner, so I can’t say anything about the rooms. The little restaurant was cozy and warm, and small but perfectly sufficient. Sitting by the fire was fabulous. Their warm Gluwein is just right for winter, and the meat and salad are always fresh. Ask about the story behind the place, too, since Yorgo Seferis was a very important man.
