New Konak Hotel

We came from Los Angeles, USA, for three days, and the staff were perfect, especially Mr. Dogan, Mr. Azad, Mr. Kenan, and everyone else who was so helpful. The location is about as good as it gets. The hotel was very clean, and the rooms, bathrooms, and beds were all very nice.

The main drawbacks were that room service didn't happen every day, and I couldn't set the temperature myself because the air conditioning is central, so I had to ask reception. Breakfast was pretty average, nothing special, but it was okay. The staff were super friendly and helpful, and the price, cleanliness, and location were all excellent. I had a really good stay at New Konak Hotel, and it was totally worth the price.

It's about 100 meters from the avm shopping centre, and the location is great. The receptionist was friendly, and room service was good.

The open buffet breakfast was a standard Turkish breakfast, with food to choose from at the counter. The hotel was decent for a short stay, and I felt I got what I paid for. You shouldn't expect Mövenpick or Hilton comfort, but if I come back to Van I'll book New Konak again. I stayed two nights, covering the two days just before Ramadan through its eve. My fiancée and I are teachers, and we wanted to sightsee and try some local food. The room was superbly clean, with not a single hair on the sheets or towels. It's right next to the biggest mall around the city center, I guess. There's a newer mall farther down the road, but at the time of this review only a handful of its stores were open. The staff were genuinely friendly. If you're driving, you can use the mall parking lot during the day.
