Cattleya Hotel

There was no security lock on my door, so I had to sleep with a chair behind it. I didn't get hot water in the shower, and there were no extra blankets. Housekeeping never came during my three days and two nights. At 6:30 AM, I was stuck waiting in sweaty gym clothes because the night receptionist was making his rounds and I couldn't get back into the hotel. The single-occupancy room was tiny. There wasn't a mirror above the face sink, so I had to shave in the room and then rinse my razor in the sink.

For events that run for several days or more on the compound, this is a handy place to stay with easy access to everything. The rooms are comfortable, with AC, enough room to move around, Wi-Fi and outlets. The TVs are very dated, and the outlets don't hold plugs firmly. The balconies need repairs too.

It's quiet, but the shower takes some figuring out because the hot and cold settings are reversed. For hot water, you have to turn the handle to C. Room 210 has the worst toilet door.

I've fallen at the front, and so have other people, because the tiles look similar at each level and around the ramp. It's easy to miss the ramp or a change in level. The main doors don't open outward or slide aside. With COVID-19 around, guests and visitors shouldn't have to touch the tap by the entrance to close it or put their hands on the main doors to open them.
