The staff were kind, and the room was clean with good water pressure. The location was convenient, within walking distance of the train station. But the hotel is old, breakfast choices were limited, and the room layout was terrible: they gave us two single beds instead of a double, the toilet was inside the shower cubicle, and the faucet was in the room.

We were able to leave our luggage there for a couple of days while we went to Alishan, which was really helpful. The rooms and bathrooms were clean, and our room was very large, with 2 x double beds. It's a 15 minute walk to the train station. Breakfast was delicious and worked well for us as vegetarians, with plenty of protein like eggs, edamame, and tofu. I can definitely recommend this hotel.

I wouldn't recommend this hotel, especially with other well located hotels nearby. The room design was poor and dated, with a cubicle style toilet. The counter staff weren't helpful: they'd answer when asked, but offered no explanation or extra information. I asked in Mandarin and still couldn't get a satisfactory answer, so I can only imagine how hard it would be for someone speaking English to ask how to use the TV remote. The hotel lets guests leave bags at the counter and collect them after an Alisan tour, but the bags weren't tagged at all, which didn't feel safe.

I appreciated the thoughtful hospitality when they upgraded my room for free. It was spacious and clean, with a beautiful view and a quiet location. The larger bed and better toiletries also made the stay more comfortable. I'd highly recommend it.

The staff were very helpful, and the room was spacious and nicely furnished. The night market is within walking distance, and Hinoki Village is only a short trip away.
