Baron's Hot Spring Hotel

Good value for the cost and a central Jiaoxi location. Downstairs, the hotel has separate hot spring pools for men and women, with hot and cold baths and a sauna. There’s also a bathtub in the room fed by hot spring water. I can’t recommend the place enough. Nearby hot springs within walking distance offer day passes if you want to try a shared sex spa experience!

I like this hotel. Staying here feels relaxing and comfortable, and the service is good.

I stayed at Shuai Wang Hot Spring Hotel on a two-day, one-night island tour to Guishan Island, Yilan, organized by Ye Sheng over Labor Day, May 1st. Since it was a group trip, I didn’t choose the hotel myself. These are just my personal observations about the room. The overall decor felt dated. The comforters were thin, and the mattress was very soft, though comfort is subjective. The air conditioner was noisy and seemed ineffective: even at 26 degrees Celsius, I couldn’t feel a temperature change. The two single beds faced a large glass window, which made the view and sleeping experience a little uncomfortable. There were also several practical problems. The dressing table had no mirror, and the bathroom had no hooks or racks for towels. The bathroom door was hard to open and close and made a sharp noise. The shower head height couldn’t be adjusted, and water overflowed from the shower partition onto the floor around the toilet, making it slippery. The sink faucet was stiff, and the water pressure fluctuated enough to splash onto clothes. We didn’t expect much from the accommodation on a group tour, but I hope the hotel improves its equipment maintenance and room details to make guests more comfortable.

The facilities felt quite old, the bed was a little hard, and I didn’t really get used to it. There was also a musty smell throughout the hotel, including in the room. At check-in, we were told there were very few guests that day, so breakfast wouldn’t be served and the hot spring wouldn’t be open. That was really disappointing. We’d booked ahead, and when they called that morning to confirm our stay, they should have told us the facilities would be unavailable. If they had, we wouldn’t have stayed that day.
