The cigarette smell is pretty strong, unfortunately. The AC is strong too, which makes this a nice place to cool off on a hot day, and it isn't pricey.

Getting around was easy from here: Aozihdi MRT station and the light rail are within walking distance, and the city center isn't far. Breakfast came with a choice of four Western or Chinese options, plus milk or orange juice. We only had a rented scooter, so I can't say how good the parking garage is. We booked at the last minute for Kaohsiung and found a deal for NT$17XX after tax on the app. Room 221 had no window, though it was large, as was the bathroom. The tub was huge too. Two of us, both on the large side, could just about fit for a soak, and the water took a while to get hot. Still, a chest-deep luxury tub like that is pretty rare. The bed had a nice balance of soft and firm, and the AC cooled the room well. It wasn't perfectly clean, but it looked cared for, and the toilet seat had a mark after disinfection. The staff were really friendly. My one real downside was the lingering cigarette smell. It had everything you'd expect a hotel to have. This was my first time at a motel, and I learned that rooms with direct parking and garages are usually on the second floor. That could be a problem if you can't manage stairs. The door to the room is heavy and solid, so soundproofing seemed good. Although Room 221 is near the street, we could barely hear cars or the rolling shutters in other apartments. The TV isn't large, but the picture is clear; there's a keypad-locked movie option and a fourth channel.
