I spent five nights at With Inn Hostel, which gave me a good sense of the place. The showers were spacious and fine, and there was laundry and a drying rack on the balcony floor. But with lots of bags, the steep stairs are a problem, so I wouldn't bring everything upstairs. Storage was another issue. There wasn't a luggage storage area near the lobby, unlike at the other hostels I've stayed in, and the lockers only fit 2-3 items. Larger secure lockers for valuables would make sense, especially since the doors were always unlocked. I didn't feel secure in the rooms. The door was left unlocked, and people who weren't staying there came in to visit other guests. The top bunk had no curtain for privacy, and its mattress was very thin. The ladder to the third bed shook and moved away from the wall as I climbed, which made me worry about getting hurt. Even though quiet hours start at 11pm, I woke up nearly every night around 2-3am because roommates were noisy or packing. Given the room price, I was disappointed by the quality and security.

The staff are very helpful, and shops and alleyway markets are all around. It's easy to find, and the location is excellent: a short walk from a red line station that's only two stops from main Kaoishiung station. The room is compact, with the bed raised on a metal bar frame. Climbing it is hard on bare feet, so wear shoes, and it may not suit anyone afraid of heights. Breakfast begins at 8.30 am. The place has a very niche feel.

The with inn hostel has nice rooms and very friendly, welcoming staff. It's a good place for families or big groups. Breakfast could use a bit more variety.

The beds were comfortable enough and clean, and we loved the cute, comfortable balcony on the third floor. Everyone was friendly and helpful. The hostel is close to the MRT station and a great price for a stay in Kaohsiung. The dorms are quite small, though, and there's not much space to move around when a couple of people are in there. There also aren't many bathrooms.

The breakfast was great, healthy and beautifully presented, and the rooms and bathrooms were clean. This is a cute hostel with helpful, friendly staff, close to Central Park KMRT station and lots of good shopping. Dorm beds are assigned, and you get two lockers at no charge, one small one in the room and another downstairs. They give you keys for your assigned lockers along with your room key.
