The mountain view from our room was the best we saw around Wulai, and having a hot spring in the bathroom was lovely. We also enjoyed the included dinner and breakfast, both were very good. The stay was nice enough that I'd consider coming back, maybe the problems were a one-time fluke. Sleep was rough, though. Construction outside was loud, and I could hear other guests turning on their in-room hot springs. We only had one pillow each, which didn't feel like enough for sitting up to watch TV. When I asked for extras, we got just one more. It also smelled strongly of cigarettes, and the replacement smelled even worse.

The bathhouse is conveniently located near the center of Wulai, and it cost NT$470. I didn't stay at the hotel, but I really enjoyed the very clean Japanese-style public bath. In the men's area there was a hot pool, a warm one, a cold pool, a steam sauna, and a dry sauna. I alternated between the tingling heat and refreshing cold, tried the saunas and the two strong water jets beside the warm pool, which gave a nice back massage. I finished by relaxing in the warm pool, where you can stay for a long time. One man was even reading a book there. The jungle hillside view from the bath gradually turned dark as evening came.

Our room had a wonderfully comfortable bed and an onsen tub right in the room, with a magnificent view of the mountains and river from the bedroom. The one-night stay at this Wulai spa was a good choice. The price included hotpot dinner, shown in the photo, and a simple breakfast.

Whenever I come to Taiwan, I visit Urai for this spa hotel. The rooms are beautiful and the hot spring water is fantastic. The staff are always friendly, and I enjoy both the breakfast and hot pot. I'd happily come back again.

We've tried plenty of places for hot springs, but for several years in a row we've kept coming back here. It's right by the old street, yet the hotel stays quiet and relaxing. We prefer the wonderful public baths, though the in-room baths are quite an experience too. Dinner has good choices, including hot pot, and breakfast is delicious.
