The staff were upbeat and helpful, and the small room, about 150 sq ft, was cute. The area reminded me of Chicago, though, and the walls were so thin that I could clearly hear the person next door coughing. I glanced at a few other guests’ reviews and noticed how professionally done their photos looked. Hmmm, better than mine, even though I took mine with a brand new iPhone 17 PRO MAX. I’ll leave it at that.

My kid and I loved the room, and the hotel staff were friendly. There is a small gap between the bathtub and wall, so shower water inevitably leaks onto the floor. It seems like a design flaw, but it didn’t stop my family from enjoying our stay. They also have a designated car park about a 5-7 minute walk from the hotel. It’s not very close, but having a designated spot is great. For each night you stay, you can redeem one free exit from the car park, regardless of how long you parked, so naturally you’d use it for overnight parking.

Taichung Station is just a five-minute walk away, close enough to make catching a train easy. The bed was big and comfy, and the room was clean. There’s a bus stop nearby too, handy when you don’t feel like walking.

For solo travelers, this is an economical stay with very good value. The staff were lovely and tried to help however they could. If someone didn’t speak English, they used a translator app instead of walking away, which I’ve experienced often in Taiwan. Breakfast is served in the reception lobby, which felt a bit awkward. The location is good, nearly opposite the train station, though nearby construction sites make it a little hard to walk there with luggage. The smaller double rooms are tiny and only suited to couples who know each other very well. The bathroom is a glass-walled cubicle in the bedroom. The room was generally clean, and you can request daily or alternate-day housekeeping, but the floor was sticky and dirty. Use the single-use slippers. They also offer reusable ones, but I wasn’t sure how clean they were. There’s no soundproofing. My neighbors talked late into the night, and I could hear doors unlocking on the same floor and above. Traffic stayed very loud until around 2 or 3 am. They provided one pair of earplugs, hidden in the nightstand. Recommended if you want a comfortable bed and good value near transport, and don’t mind noise or sleeping with earplugs.
