The bathroom had mould all over it, absolutely revolting. It made me want to get in and out of the hotel as quickly as possible. The soundproofing was poor too, and I woke up five times during the night. The premises are usually unstaffed. I arrived before check-in and called to ask if I could leave my bags at reception. After 30 minutes, they told me nobody was coming and said to leave them at the unattended concierge, which is open to the public and has no security. There are cameras, but if someone takes your bags, it’s already too late. I needed the things I’d brought and didn’t want the hassle of filing a police report, so I carried my bags around for the rest of the day.

I stayed at Story Hotel in Taichung and would recommend it. The staff were considerate and kind, and the place was clean and well sanitized. They supplied things like bottled water, coffee sachets, toothpaste and a toothbrush in the room, and even lent me a thermometer for my whole quarantine stay. Thank you.

The location worked really well, just a five-minute walk from Feng Chia night market. My room was clean and spacious, and the bed was large enough for two, though it felt too soft for me and wasn’t very comfortable.

I felt really comfortable here, and there were no bugs at all. Uber Eats orders were left right outside my door, and the food I got was delicious. I don’t understand Chinese, but the staff patiently used a translation app to communicate with me. When I couldn’t figure out the TV, they came to help several times without showing any annoyance. Everyone was gentle and wonderful. Thank you all for making my stay so warm and pleasant 🥹⭐️
