The room was spacious, had two bathrooms, and was comfortable to stay in. The resort’s owner was also friendly and helpful. He booked the Old Mountain little train for us, since the online-only booking seemed unfriendly to foreigners. The location is on a hill, which is the one downside. But in Sanyi you mostly rely on taxis or rental cars anyway, so it wasn’t too bad. I walked to town in about 12 minutes, so it’s walkable too.

The breakfast situation was unpleasant. Since the other guests were a group, our breakfast time got cut short. We only started eating at 9:10 AM, and by 9:30 AM the cleaning lady was yelling at us and telling us to hurry up and leave. Our room smelled strongly of secondhand smoke, even more so with the air conditioning on. We had a child with us, and there were no other rooms available that day. It was really disheartening. If you can, avoid staying here.

The breakfast was delicious, and the owners were very friendly. The high ceiling made the room feel comfortable, parking was convenient, and there were adorable cats. There’s also a convenience store nearby. The bathroom ventilation was weak, though, and it was still damp after the ventilator ran all night.
