I spent two nights in a single bed room with a shared toilet on level 2. The building is a bit rundown, though it has an exotic charm. Security felt pretty good, and they messaged me the code each day. There are toilets and sinks on both levels, but the level 2 toilet is so cramped there's barely room between the bowl and door. That's the one thing I couldn't stand. I had a better time using the toilet at the HSR station. Mosquitoes were around too, and the aircon in my room was noisy. They provide a jug so you can get hot or cold water from level 1. On the first night, a few girls came back around 11pm and sang, laughed, and talked loudly until after midnight. It seemed like there was nobody there to stop them.

The room was clean, the linen smelled nice, and it had a TV with Chromecast, towels, a hair dryer, and AC. For the area, I thought the price was good. There were lots of mosquitoes, though the anti-mosquito lamps worked fine. There isn't a common area. The shared bathrooms were decent and clean, with strong shower pressure, but the sink is outside and behind the bathroom. Free water and tea are available, and the self-service kiosk sells some toiletries and accessories cheaply. The washing machine was very nice to use, under 2€ with a free dryer.

The room was barely larger than a queen bed, and even though we're not big, it felt cramped. If you're bringing large luggage, make sure you don't get the room we had. There was a strong sewage smell even with the AC on. We tried blocking the drains with a garbage bin and shampoo, but it barely helped. The room needs a deep clean, and paint was peeling off the wall. I wasn't happy with the stay and wouldn't return.

The staff were lovely, gave me great recommendations, and helped me book my train ticket to Hualien. The colorful West Central district is a charming setting for this boutique hotel, and I loved its eclectic interiors and all the thoughtful little touches in the room. I didn't have a noise problem, though it is an old building with shared bathrooms, so you do have to be okay with giving up some luxuries. Many thanks to the staff. 🫶🏻

The friendly staff made check-in and checkout smooth. My room was clean and comfortable, and the location was convenient for exploring the area. I had a pleasant stay.
