Artinn hotel

The location was the best part, close to the very touristy Ximending area. The hotel was easy to spot across the street thanks to its big pink wall sign. The lobby is on the third floor and felt a bit small and cluttered. I booked a double room with a windowed shower through Agoda. It was huge, more like a studio apartment, with a separate toilet and washroom. The toilet is a dry one with no bidet spray. The washroom was so small there was no wall hook for clothes or towels, and even if there had been one, things would probably still get wet. Another downside was the cold. There was no heater in the room, even in winter, so I still needed a warm inner layer to sleep.

The daily snacks and bottled water were good, but the cleaner did a sloppy job even though I asked for daily cleaning. My clothes were dumped on a chair without being folded or arranged. The bathroom, wallpaper, and carpets were very moldy, and the window sills were filthy. It looked okay at first, but I wasn’t confident about the cleanliness. I was worried about the mold, especially with an elderly lady with me. Fine if you’re on a budget, but absolutely not worth paying more.

I booked a month before my Taiwan trip, then the hotel cancelled just a few days before I was due to leave and raised the original price through dynamic pricing. There was no explanation, communication, or attempt to make things right. Since my trip was at the start of 2026, when demand was overwhelmingly high, it was hard to find another hotel. Cancelling literally days beforehand was completely unprofessional. How was I supposed to manage? I’d avoid this hotel during high-demand periods at least, so you don’t get treated as inhumanely as I was.

The water never came back on, so I had to leave without even washing my face, let alone taking a shower. There was no running water from 8 to 11 AM on checkout day, and the staff made no effort to fix it. They refused my late checkout request, then only gave me 20 extra minutes after I complained strongly. I had to hurriedly book a nearby Qtime and pay extra just to shower. The whole experience was awful, the worst. Don’t stay here. Even one star is too much.
