A couple of things could be better: there was no shower curtain, so the whole bathroom floor got wet, and our room had no window, which might feel a bit closed in to some people. Those were small drawbacks for us, though, and we enjoyed the stay. Ningxia Night Market was right outside, while Zhongshan and Ximending were a short distance away. Staff were very polite and helpful. We also liked being able to choose the time for room cleaning each day, and the lobby’s free water, drinks and snacks were restocked daily.

The main drawback for me was the lack of a freezer. There wasn’t one in the minibar or anywhere in the hotel, which could be a deal breaker if, like me, you’re carrying frozen breast milk for a baby. Luckily, friends staying nearby had one. The lobby dispenser for hot water raised a small privacy concern, too. Free water, tea, coffee and snacks were available there anytime. We booked a 16-square-meter room on Agoda, and the front desk said she’d upgraded us. By my estimate, the bedroom was about 3.6 by 4.7 meters, plus a roughly 3-square-meter shower room, around 20 square meters altogether. It fit two large suitcases, two carry-ons and a stroller. The pink shower room felt out of place with the hotel’s muted beige look, but it all looked clean. The single-floor setup on the second floor made things accessible. The neighborhood was peaceful despite being just steps from Watsons, 7-Eleven and Ningxia Night Market. It felt quaint, a little old-fashioned, and charming. We had a good stay despite a few snags.

The room wasn’t large, but it was very clean, well kept and had what we needed. The layout used the space well, and the bed hit a comfortable middle ground, neither too hard nor too soft. I slept well. Ningxia Night Market is right outside the lobby, with food, drinks and local atmosphere just steps away. Public transport and major attractions were easy to reach. After a day out, it was nice to come back for the complimentary lobby snacks and drinks, available all day without limit. I thought it was great value, and it exceeded my expectations. I’d stay again on a return to Taipei and recommend it to friends and family.

The hotel was clean, comfortable and quiet, with a lovely bathroom. It’s near the night market, restaurants and plenty of shops. A post office was also within a three-minute walk, which helped me ship some things home and avoid airline fees. The train station was about a five-minute drive away. I booked through trip.com and found it easy, and the price was reasonable. Contact the hotel well before check-in so you know how to find it. They send directions by video on WhatsApp. I also learned to enter “AT HOME HOTEL NANSHI” in Uber, since my first search sent me to the other “AT HOME HOTEL.” I’d stay here again.

For the price, the rooms are larger than usual, and the hotel is kept clean enough. It’s in a great spot beside one of Taipei’s best-known night markets. I also appreciated the complimentary drinks and snacks at reception.
