Le Room Hotel Kaifeng

The bed was more comfortable than I expected, and the room had the basic things I needed. But the room was extremely small, and the tub was so filthy I had to buy bleach and a sponge from Don Quijote to clean it myself. WiFi was painfully slow, so don’t count on it. Better to bring your own pocket WiFi. We checked in around 4am, and the first guy at the front desk was helpful and made it easy. The other staff were cold and unfriendly afterward, didn’t respond to a simple hello, and made no effort. That was disappointing for a hotel in hospitality. All in all, it wasn’t a good stay and I wouldn’t come back.

We were four adults sharing one room with two double beds. It was a budget-friendly hotel, central, and Family Mart and 7 eleven were just moments away. Space was limited, but still comfortable enough to walk around.

The second room I was moved to wasn’t clean. There was disgusting mould in the shower corners, dust in the window corners, an awkwardly angled fixed shower head that made showering inconvenient, and old, worn-out towels. The breakfast labels were also wrong: the plain mantou had a pork sign in front of it, and the fried rice noodles had a chicken sign even though there was no chicken in the dish. Management needs to look into the condition and operations. It’s a five to eight minute walk to Taipei main station, with a Family Mart right next door. Breakfast is included but very basic. My first room had a strong musty smell, though the front desk kindly moved me to another one.

The hotel is conveniently located, but the man wearing glasses who served me on the evening of April 13, 2026, had poor service etiquette and needs to improve. I’ve never encountered hotel staff like that before. Noise from outside and from inside the room was so bad that I couldn’t sleep.
