The evening team made a particularly strong impression on me. I remember Miko and Jeffery, and both were very attentive and supportive. Miko especially helped me look up different restaurants and even make reservations, so I got to try several distinctive Taiwanese specialties. Every time I came back, someone welcomed me warmly, and the whole staff felt professional, helpful, and kind. I've seen some reviews question the service, but based on my own experience, that feels unfair. This hotel is excellent, and the people working here are among the best I've encountered. Their friendliness and willingness to help made my stay, and I'd recommend the place to anyone visiting.

The staff were nice and helpful, and the location made shopping easy. Taipei 101, mitsukoshi, and other malls were within walking distance. We had a Taipei 101 view from our spacious, well-equipped room. We asked for a baby cot and got one, along with a baby tub and sterilizer. A very family-friendly hotel.

The view of Taipei 101 was a real highlight, and the location puts you close to everything. Hanns House has a calm feel and thoughtful design that made it feel like a little home in the middle of Taipei. The rooms are roomy, comfortable, and well equipped, more like a serviced apartment than a hotel room, which is especially handy for a longer stay. The lobby lounge and gym were lovely extras, and the staff made things smooth and pleasant. A good choice for comfort, character, and location.

The hotel felt really odd, and for the price it wasn't worth it. A lot of things barely worked, and it didn't seem well maintained. I arrived after a flight wanting to relax and watch TV, but nobody helped with my bulky bags. The room was bare bones, with no extra blankets or lotion, and the TV didn't work. Its strange wand-style remote was hard to use, Netflix wouldn't work properly, and a restaurant ad stayed across the top of the screen. The front desk tried fixing it, then moved me to another room. That TV turned on, but after a long sign-in process with the wand remote, Netflix showed only one page and still didn't work. The front desk person seemed 'confused' but apparently had seen this before, and brought an Apple TV they said they rent to guests for an extra charge. It sounded like a scam to me. Later, the hallway outside my second room reeked of cigarettes. The front desk said the hotel was non-smoking, but I was pretty sure kitchen staff were smoking on their break. The place also constantly smelled of cooking from the restaurant. They moved me again, since they knew that floor was right above the kitchen. I got upgraded to a suite after all the problems, but it wasn't much better than the regular room, just a little bigger. This time I was directly across from an office building where people could look straight into my room, which felt awkward. I tried the restaurant for lunch after seeing its ad nonstop, but they kept rushing me to order. I said I wanted to read the menu, then someone else came by a minute later asking if I was ready. After the third interruption, I left without ordering because it was so aggravating. Breakfast was the worst hotel breakfast I've ever had, even compared with the two-star hotels where I usually get powdered eggs and stale muffins. The coffee was by far the most disgusting I've tried.

I've stayed at Hanns House many times on trips to Taipei and really enjoy it. The staff are cheerful, friendly, and helpful, and the rooms are super spacious. It's about five minutes from the most popular shopping area. The one update I'd suggest is bidet toilets. Otherwise, I'd highly recommend it to travelers who want a reasonably priced, roomy hotel.
