Goodmore Hotel

I've tried several room types here, from the smallest single rooms to superior deluxe rooms with a window. The bathroom lighting was poor in all of them, especially around the vanity mirrors. I won't be coming back and wouldn't recommend the hotel.

The location is good, but the price is high for what you get. Both rooms I tried looked clean, yet each smelled musty. The Wi-Fi was unusable, practically as if there were no connection at all.

The bathroom water kept shifting temperature and often went cold, which was especially rough in winter. I also found the layout concerning: narrow stairways, very slow elevators, and an unusually high number of rooms on each floor made the place feel unsafe. At check-in, the front desk staff spoke in a noticeably rude, dismissive way, making the interaction uncomfortable. I hope these problems are addressed for future guests.

The coffee and cookie corner on the seventh floor was a handy place to take a break, especially while rooms were being cleaned. It's a modest space for breakfast and coffee. My room faced a window and cost about €57 a night. It was comfortable and well kept, with a firm, supportive bed and a spacious bathroom. The modern shower worked perfectly, and cleanliness was consistently praised by other guests as well as noticed by me. Check-in starts at 15:00 and checkout is at 12:00 PM. Mrs. Kimi, who was in charge of cleaning, made a real difference. She was thorough, professional, proactive, and easy to chat with in English and Chinese. Her local tips were spot-on and added a personal touch. Goodmore Hotel Shi-Da was a solid stay in Taipei, and I'm planning to return in November. I'll definitely recommend it to my wife.
