Inhouse Hotel

What made this stay especially convenient was being right in Ximending, close to shops, food, night markets, and a short walk from Ximen MRT. The price felt like great value for that location and quality. The hotel was clean throughout, and the room was well kept and fresh. Breakfast came with the stay, and the spread was a lovely start to each morning. Staff were kind and did their best to make guests feel welcome. I'd happily return next time I'm in Taipei.

The staff were polite and helpful, which was the only real bright spot for me. I spent five nights getting bitten by insects. The location felt unattractive unless you specifically want to stay in that area. My room was small and noisy, with little storage, and there was carpet. Breakfast was included, but the food selection was poor. The bed and pillows were comfortable, though. There was just one elevator.

Ximending is right outside, with the MRT at Ximen and other sights in the area only a short walk away. The hotel itself was comfortable, and breakfast on the second floor was decent. Reception staff were professional and very helpful, as were the room cleaners. I'd stay here again if I come back to Taipei.

I liked having a bathtub as well as a shower, something I hadn't found at the other non-Western chain hotels on this Taiwan trip. The beds were firm but fine, though the pillows could've been thicker, and I had no noise problems. Staff were helpful too: one of them walked with me to FamiMart when I couldn't get my bus tickets to print. Breakfast had plenty of choices and was handy, but I only ate there once; I preferred picking up bing from a street vendor. The location works especially well for evenings in Ximending, and Ximen metro station is close. Taihu bar nearby is worth a look if you're after local beer.
