The room wasn’t very soundproof. We could hear people talking down the hall, water running in the next room, and motorcycles and cars with loud exhaust outside. A group of young students next door were celebrating and singing a birthday song, and we could hear them too. It’s convenient for getting around, very close to the MRT, and there are some nice eateries within walking distance. The Level 1 staff were polite and helpful when we checked in and asked for information.

I stayed here in mid December 2023 and paid US$75/night. The location is great, on Roosevelt road next to the Taipower building MRT station, near the Shida area, night markets, and restaurants. If I stayed again, I’d try to pay a little less. This was my third or fourth stay, though my last visit was probably 10 years ago, definitely before covid. The place is a little rough around the edges, but the front desk staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are medium-sized by Asian standards, with enough room to open my bag, though they’re not huge. There aren’t outlets beside either side of the bed, so you’ll need an extension chord. US travelers should know the electricity is 110 to 120 volts with US-style plugs. The bathroom was fine and had bidet toilet seats. Mine had a large, old-style European bathtub, which I don’t really like because it’s hard to get In-N-Out of, though there was a grab bar. I prefer a shower-only room, which they have.

I’m staying here now and the staff’s behavior has been disgusting. They told us to hang the card out before 12 for room make up, and said they couldn’t do anything afterward. They wouldn’t even try to ask. When I said I wanted to complain, they told me, “You go complain to head office!” I’ve paid for the services included, but when I asked for cutlery they said to come pick it up from reception. All the staff seemed annoyed in their body language and had bad manners.

The rooms were clean, but the quality wasn’t very good for the price. The hotel is in a convenient spot right next to the metro, but I’d book another hotel nearby if you can. Our flight from the US got in early, so we arrived at 6:30 am and asked the front desk if we could leave our luggage before the 3:00 pm check-in. We came back at 4:00 pm, but there was nobody at the desk, so we couldn’t retrieve it. The female housekeeper was rude and ignored us before telling us to call the customer support line on the machine kiosk. No one answered, and we had to call another guide hotel branch to reach anyone. After an hour, a male housekeeper happened to arrive in the lobby and helped us get our bags. Without running into him, we probably wouldn’t have had our luggage that night.
