Honey Prince Hotel

The nearby staff at Rainbow Hotel were welcoming and found room for us at short notice. Honey Prince, though, left me unable to recommend it. The room was on the third floor of what seemed to be a storage building, with trash and boxes around it. The bedding looked worn and dirty, the bathroom was poorly kept, and the room's hygiene and comfort were far below expectations. The website and booking photos were completely misleading, very far from reality. It felt like a scam. The poor air quality seemed to trigger breathing trouble and allergy symptoms for me. The mattress was extremely hard, and with my back issues I couldn't get proper rest. I rate this zero, since even 1 feels too high.

The main building where my friend and I stayed was clean and pleasant, and for this Prize it was super nice. The room's lighting created an unusually good atmosphere. We had enough towels and toilet paper every day, the shower was great, and there was no mold or cockroaches. The bed and room were clean, and the location was very good. I can't say anything bad about that building. At first the staff tried to take us to the "Side Building," which other reviews have mentioned. We refused, and they let us stay in the main building as advertised. I can't speak to the conditions in the other building.

The newer building we were taken to was clean and had air con, a water fountain, and a working lift. The room was tiny, though, and too hot. The aircon took a while to start working, then switched off as soon as we left, so the room became an oven again. A large suitcase wouldn't fit open on the floor. The shower head was a bit grim, but we got two bottles of water. A fridge to keep them cold in that hot room would help. The walls were so thin we could hear everything in neighboring rooms. Getting there was a strange process. The check-in place looked rundown and filthy, and staff weren't very attentive. We were left waiting, then made to wait for more guests, even though it was around 10:30pm, so we could all be taken together to another location about 4mins away. There we had to check in again on a self service machine. Why not send us there in the first place? The location is good and easy enough to reach, and the last minute price wasn't horrible. I'd stay again if I could be sure of getting the nicer building, but it wouldn't be my first choice.

The location was good, but our room was old, and there was nobody at reception whenever we wanted to ask for it to be cleaned. During Pride Event last weekend, I found out the room was actually at Emperor Palace Hotpot, about 3mins from Honey Prince Hotel. The booking hadn't said the room would be in a different location.
