Nice.

The room was so dirty that I found a cockroach crawling on the bed. Disgusting. We were told at check-in that, because of our extended stay, the room would be cleaned every four days, but they didn’t change even the towels. On the fourth day it still hadn’t been cleaned, so I called the front desk. They didn’t apologize, just asked me to wait while they checked. A few minutes later, the cleaning staff rang the bell and also offered no apology. They said it hadn’t been cleaned because I hadn’t called the front desk to ask for it. That put the responsibility on us, and it was completely different from what we’d been told at check-in. It was so strange. They did clean the room then and said they’d check with us the next morning when they came to the office. Several days went by with no result. Four days later, I called the front desk again in the morning to request cleaning, and the staff said, “We don’t clean for anyone.” I was completely dumbfounded. They had said they would clean if I called in the morning, so why were they now saying they couldn’t? You can’t leave luggage here on check-in day, and check-in only starts at 4:30 PM.

The staff patiently explained the check-in process, which I appreciated. It still felt worth the price overall, but the room needs to be cleaner. The refrigerator kept making noise and made it hard to sleep, and you have to climb the stairs to the third floor yourself.

The price was really cheap. It was my first stay, and I was a bit confused about how to check in, but my dad said we could stay here again next time we come to Taipei.
