Royal Rose Hotel Shuangcheng Hall

The feel of the surrounding neighborhood was much more Taipei than Ximending, Taipei Main, or Zhongshan, and I really liked the vibe. This budget boutique hotel is a hidden gem. The room was comfortable and the fittings decent. Water pressure was great, though the toilet seat didn't have the Japanese-style heater. Free snacks and instant noodles were a nice extra. Overall, a great experience.

The pantry was handy, with snacks, cup noodles, and a microwave, and there was a washing area where guests could do laundry for a fee. Staff were friendly and helpful. We stayed with my fiance and had a great visit. The room was spacious enough, and the hotel was about a 10-minute walk from the train station. The walls aren't very soundproof, though luckily we didn't have any trouble during our stay. We'll definitely come back.

The front desk service was perfect. They were always trying their best to help, and the hotel made my time in Taiwan even better. I slept really well: the room was comfortable, extremely clean, and quiet. There’s a laundry area and complimentary sweets and drinks, plus a night market around the corner. I’d definitely recommend staying here. You won't regret it :)

The corridor got noisy at times, with people talking by the elevator and slamming doors. It felt like our own door was open. The reception staff were kind, though, and I really liked the interior and location. Our first night was in Room 302. It was nice, but the air conditioner seemed to blow mold, and I had skin and breathing allergies. Staff kindly moved us to Room 306 the next morning, but its air conditioner caused the same problem. We chose to sleep without it and didn’t raise the issue again. The staff gave us a dehumidifier, which we used instead. Luckily, it wasn’t too hot.
