Ku Shan Yuan Hotel

This was one of the worst rooms I've stayed in. There was hair all over the bed and pillow, though we didn't mention it. When we returned from our evening walk and opened the door, a mouse was beside the bed. It ran through the bedroom into the bathroom, then climbed into the ceiling through the pipe in the corner by the bathtub. We complained at reception. The kind older gentleman there offered us another room on the third floor. He's the only reason I'm giving the service four stars.

The receptionist was good, and the location is convenient, right in the middle of the night market. But the room was filthy, as if it hadn't been swept. Hair was scattered across the floor, there was dust everywhere, the faucet was unstable, and the bed didn't look like it had been changed. I was hesitant to sleep in it. I also hated the housekeepers. Before checkout time, while I was still having breakfast, one knocked loudly and shouted at the door like she was conducting a raid. It ruined what was meant to be a happy, quiet morning. Even if a guest stays past their rental time, just charge them. There's no need to wreck someone's morning. I'll never come back!

For a budget stay, this place is fine if you don't mind a very hard bed. It's basically a wooden box with no mattress, which was especially uncomfortable for me as a side sleeper. If you're young and don't care much about that, you may be okay here, but anyone with back problems should avoid it. The staff were friendly. They asked us to leave the key at reception when we went out, but didn't push when we declined. I'd give it a solid three out of five.

Be careful, I had bed bugs here. After I realized what was happening, I went to the hospital and had to pay nearly 3000 TWD. The place is dirty, and getting a refund has caused me a lot of stress. They also haven't reimbursed my hospital bill, so I'm going to file a claim with the government. Even if the price looks cheap, staying here can be dangerous. Your health matters more. Travelers everywhere, think twice, especially if you're with a child. Having to see a doctor and deal with all this was a horrible experience.
