Be careful with your belongings. Hotel maids may steal valuable items. The key card can take times to open the door, and the room is quite old and has a smell.

The staff were very kind and held our 2 backpacks before check-in, and there are lots of shops and restaurants nearby. It’s convenient to the main station. The beds are soft and bouncy, but the hotel feels old and unclean. The room smell wasn’t too bad, though the hallways had a strong BO/musty smell. When we arrived, the towels and pillow were dirty. There’s no window, and a red safety light in the room can’t be turned off. The door gap lets in a lot of hallway light, so light-sensitive people should beware. The walls seem thin, and we could easily hear our neighbors. The door keys were very finicky and often took many tries to open. The bathroom has a tub/shower combo, but it didn’t seem clean enough or large enough to use the tub. The elevator is small and probably won’t fit a stroller or wheelchair. Wi-Fi was so-so, and there were few other hotel amenities. They provided shampoo, body wash, toothbrush, water bottle, soap, shower cap, razor, comb, refrigerator, TV, and hair dryer.

The rooms are better, though the washrooms are a bit small. The hotel staff are cooperative, and there are a few coffee shops nearby. The location is best, with the busy ximen area and MRT both a 10 minutes walk away.

The location is still the main thing this hotel has going for it. I stayed last year and thought it was reasonable, but coming back this year was a letdown. The old facilities haven't improved, and the cleaning staff I encountered were mostly older women with a very rude manner. I looked at several rooms, and in more than one the mattress and sheets were dirty and covered with hair.
