The men's room was dirty, and the towel was disgusting, with a blood spot on it. The room and furniture were old, and I felt really uncomfortable.

For the price, it's a good deal. Clean, and it feels like a school dorm.

The price is good for what you get.

The location was actually pretty good and the service was okay, but the room was my main problem. This felt more like an ordinary house with beds in a few rooms than a hostel. My room was messy, and two people had apparently been there long-term for years. One had spread his belongings across two beds, though he slept on the living-room sofa instead. That meant I couldn't use the living room to cook or chat at night. At Star House 2, there didn't seem to be rules about lights-out or keeping quiet, and one roommate talked on the phone in the room until the middle of the night. The dressing room wasn't clean, there was no toilet paper, and the place was so crowded that people knocked on the bathroom door whenever I went in. If a messy setup bothers you, I'd avoid it. Other hostels cost about the same and have much better standards.
