I had planned to stay two nights, but after seeing the condition of the place I booked somewhere else straight away. This is the first time I’ve left a negative review for accommodation. There was hair in the fridge, and a big mess of hair and dust behind the sofa. The showerhead was filthy, the water stung my eyes for more than 10 seconds, the towels had yellow marks, and the bathroom floor looked like metal with paint stains on it. From 8 AM onward, drilling and hammering went on constantly. Shouldn’t guests have been told about that? The soundproofing is awful, and you can hear everything in the hallway. It looks like a subdivided suite being rented out again. I don’t know whether that’s legal, but it clearly doesn’t have a hotel operator’s license. Don’t try to save money by staying somewhere this appalling.

I’ve stayed in all kinds of places, and this is the first time I’ve had an experience this bad. I booked successfully on Agoda, then called that afternoon to ask about parking. They told me they’d “unilaterally” cancelled my booking the day before, without telling me. The person on the phone was rude, said there were no rooms and I shouldn’t come to sleep there, and claimed the toilet was broken and unavailable. Then they hung up. Now I’m basically stuck trying to sleep near Taipei Main Station. Please think about that attitude before booking. This guesthouse should go out of business.
