The Tango Taipei LinSen

Across two weeks in Taiwan and eight hotels, this one came out on top. We had a Tango Suite, with a good-sized room, a great bed, excellent air conditioning, and an amazing bathroom. A washer-dryer and detergent were in our room, though not every room has one; free washers and dryers are also available in the public areas. They left a few complimentary soft drinks in the fridge each day, and there was an ice machine too. The staff were really nice and spoke good English. I couldn't find an obvious staircase from our second-floor room, so we'd have had to use the lift, but the lifts never caused a problem.

It's in a nightlife area, but the neighborhood didn't feel sleazy, and there are plenty of convenience stores nearby. The MRT and Zhongshan area are walkable. Rooms have a decent amount of space and the location is great. Amenities are basic, and I wish the bath area had more room and a soap rack for our own toiletries. Still, I'd recommend it!

The neighborhood is another reason I keep coming back to this hotel. On our first night, my Apple Watch charger stopped working, and I found a replacement charging stand at a shop around the block at 11:30 pm. You don't get that everywhere. This is my go-to place in Taipei. There were three of us, so the room felt a little tight with two beds and a sofa bed, but it was well laid out, and the beds and pillows were super comfortable. The service is what I love most. We stayed here last year and had requested a shower chair for my companions with mobility challenges. This time Adam at Reception remembered that when we checked in, without us asking. He also arranged an early check-in, which we really appreciated. The staff are attentive and efficient.

The room was spacious, the bed comfortable, and public transport makes the hotel easy to reach. Lulu Chen at the front desk deserves a special mention. She was friendly and professional, and went out of her way to help me book a restaurant. I'd recommend the hotel to friends and family visiting Taipei.
