The breakfast had lots of Asian options, which I really enjoyed, and the room was very clean. I was in Taipei for an event at NOKE Mall, about a 10-minute walk away, and this was one of the more affordable hotels nearby. I hadn’t realized when booking that Wego Boutique Hotel is a love hotel. The rooms have different themes, and mine was called the “Ice” theme. The bathroom setup is unusual. The bathtub is a walk-through style with no door, and neither the shower nor the toilet area has a lock. The tub works like a jacuzzi with LED lights, and there’s a TV facing it. It’s an interesting stay and probably works well for couples, but I wouldn’t really recommend it to families.

We booked the Boathouse room through the FunNow app, and it was stylish, clean, and surprisingly roomy. When we arrived, the AC had made the room freezing. One quick call and the staff brought a space heater and made sure we were comfortable. That service really stood out. WEGO Love Hotel is clearly meant for couples looking for something playful and discreet. The access is discreet, and there are masked garages for anyone who wants privacy. Everything felt smooth and well organized. It’s popular for a reason, and a solid pick if that’s the kind of stay you’re after. I wouldn’t choose it for a family trip or a business stay.

The room was quiet, the bed was big and comfortable, and the shower had strong hot water. I chose this themed love hotel for a solo business stay because it was well priced and close to work. I brought a UV light and was surprised by how clean the room was. My only gripe at first was that the TV was too loud for my taste, and I wished there were volume control, especially for certain programs 😂 After staying a few more times, I figured out the remote’s volume control is on the right side. Now I can watch the shows quietly 😍 Maybe I’ll bring my loved one next time.

I liked the hallway design, and there’s even a couch in the elevator. They told me the buffet breakfast was unavailable because it was being renovated, which I understood. I had booked this as a nice hotel after seeing it had 4 stars, but it turned out to be a love hotel. For a regular stay, the room wasn’t very practical. There’s no pool or gym, the sockets and nightstand are far from the bedroom, and there’s no table for work or meals near the bed. You have to use the bathroom if you want to work on a laptop or eat. The toilets also lack bidets for a 4-star hotel, and the TV is smaller than at other hotels. It may be great if you’re looking for that kind of fun. For a typical trip, I’d look at nearby places with more convenient rooms, fewer open bathtubs, or more facilities.

The room itself had a distinctive look, with dark walls and floors, glittery decorations, and rabbit and horse cartoon details. The bathtub sat between the bed and the glass partition, with the shower to the right and the toilet to the left. I liked the lobby entrance, but the toilet flushed slowly and poorly, sometimes leaving me unsure whether it had flushed at all. I stayed three nights, and the hotel is near the MRT. The Saturday rate was 3,300 bath, but I had to check out before 10 am and couldn’t check in again until after 20 pm. Paying 4,400 dollar avoided that forced checkout. Why? What happens to the room from 10 am to 20 pm? Compared with other hotels, it just wasn’t worth it. The breakfast buffet was poor. The old coffee machine made bad coffee, and the selection was tiny salami and ham with toast, plus the same Asian food otherwise. The food quality was a no-go for me. The rabbit garden design and fake grass wallpaper in the 8th-floor breakfast area felt old, and walking in put me in a bad mood.
