The staff were professional and attentive, with warm, thoughtful service throughout. My room was cozy, clean, and well looked after, and it helped me shake off the fatigue from a long day at work. I had a very comfortable stay and would gladly return.

I only stayed one night, but this hotel felt much more modern and upscale than the other one. What stood out most was the number of outlets. There must have been at least eight paired outlets, all easy to find and available, instead of the usual scramble around lamps and other things using them up. Most places seem to forget how many electronics people have now. My only complaint is that breakfast should be included at this price.

The location in Hsinchu is good, and the rooms are quiet and spacious. It’s a large hotel with east and west towers, connected through the lobby on the first floor or by the gym and spa on the fifth. Check-in was quick, if not especially warm. The gym is decent but small enough to get crowded. Breakfast was okay, though I remember better options from ten years ago.

The lounge was a highlight, with a good happy hour, and the hotel has a nice atmosphere and great amenities. Breakfast had lots of buffet choices. The gym was clean and usually not too busy.

The room itself was good, but getting around with the mobile key was a pain. It was especially bad at the elevator. I tried tapping my phone more than 20 times, and it still wouldn’t work. They told me the sensor wasn’t very sensitive and to use a key card instead. What’s the point of offering a mobile key if it works like that? Breakfast needs work too. There was hardly any protein, just eggs in different forms and some dry, chewy bacon. There was no other meat.
