The front desk woman made sure I was checked in properly, but the bellman insisted that the hotel did not accept my online reservation, even though he didn't know the facts. Keep your reservation number handy because he may challenge you. He later offered to take my bags upstairs, but I refused and asked someone else instead, tipping them generously.

When I'm in Dar, I usually stay at Vegas hotel. The room is nice and very clean, and the staff are so helpful, especially at reception. It feels like home to me. I enjoy staying there and will be back again and again. Thanks.

Other people in our group found roaches in their rooms too, so it seemed like a recurring problem. On our first night, we found two in ours and asked reception to move us. The receptionist said the hotel was full. When I brought up the roaches, they just said, “We sprayed before you arrived,” which made it sound like they knew about the issue but hadn't dealt with it properly. We felt very uncomfortable staying somewhere where management seemed aware of the infestation and was still operating without resolving it. There wasn't much luxury here either. The four-story hotel has no elevator, so we had to carry our bags up several flights. The dirt road leading to it was poorly maintained and floods when it rains, making it almost impossible to walk along. Breakfast was just a few bland items, and even calling it basic feels generous. If cleanliness, comfort, and basic hygiene matter to you, I'd look elsewhere. This place fell short for us, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone looking for even a minimal level of hospitality. Find somewhere more reputable and hygienic where guests' comfort and health seem to matter.

We could hear the nearby church and club so clearly that the sound seemed to vibrate through our room. It was chaotic. Still, the room was spacious and had a tea station, water, and a mini fridge. We were welcomed warmly at reception and shown to it soon after arriving. The location is handy, close to Mlimani City Mall and other shopping areas in Sinza, and not a long drive from Shekilango. Dinner was good too: the mtori was excellent, and the chicken makange was nicely seasoned. Breakfast offered a good range of local foods, and the staff were excellent and accommodating.
